Despite a low attendance of two people (myself included), the meeting went over fairly well and it went an hour over schedule. V for Victory.

Relative list of events and topics discussed, in no particular order.

  • Laid out a few CDs (Kororaa, openSUSE, TheOpenCD, and Ubuntu)
  • Member introductions: Nick Mudd and Travis Nickles (me)
  • How the Student Activities department let us down.
  • Random talk about various distros (Arch, Gentoo, Ubuntu, etc.) and environments (KDE, GNOME, E17, Fluxbox)
  • Events for the future (more meetings, LAN party, and unintentionally sidetracked discussion about Revolution OS public screening)
  • Discussion on why students might not be getting involved. (not enough advertising, Sunday meetings being a barrier, students using Linux might not want to be involved in a community, possible anti-social people)
  • Linux related media (LaGER, The Linux Link Tech Show, LugRadio, LQ Radio, Tux Magazine)
  • Issues getting wifi cards working with various distros
  • Running games on Linux (native Linux games and Windows games through Wine/Cedega)
  • Talk about Windows Vista speculation
  • Richard Stallman speaking at University of Illinois at Chicago on April 28th
  • Random talk about software and hardware endeavors

There are plenty of things that I am forgetting to write.
